Valorant’s competitive ecosystem has grown once again with Team Liquid becoming the latest esports organization to sign up a dedicated team.
Team Liquid Signs Full Valorant Roster
After rumors that Team Liquid has their eyes on Riot Games’ Valorant, the news has turned out to be true. On Friday, Team Liquid, one of the best competitive video gaming organizations in the world, introduced its first Valorant roster.
The squad is based on Fish123, a fan team who finished second during the WePlay! Valorant Invitational in July. Five players have been signed in total to now bolster Team Liquid’s efforts in this new frontier.
The signees include Adam “ec1s” Eccles, Dom “soulcas” Sulcas, James “Kryptix” Affleck and Travis “L1NK” Mendoza, as well as Belgium player Adil “ScreaM”Benriltom. The team will be coached by Connor “Sliggy”Bloomfield.

Team Liquid previously had signed some players, including Ardis ärdiis”Svarenieks, but he had to be dismissed because of cheating. According to Team Liquid chief executive Victor Goossens Riot Games new title was a good bet for the organization to expand into. Here is what Goossens had to say specifically:
“With Riot Games’ proven track record of supporting League of Legends, I expect Valorant to continue its exponential rise towards becoming a Tier 1 esport.”
He was chuffed to see Team Liquid enter a vibrant new competitive scene and lauded Fish123’s achievements during the WePlay! Valorant Invitational. According to him, Team Liquid’s new roster would be unstoppable.
Readying Up for Serious Competitions Ahead
Team Liquid’s new squad will compete primarily in the European region, based on the location of the new signees. They will also have a chance to come together for practice sessions at the Alienware Training Facility in Utrecht, Netherlands.
All Valorant players in Team Liquid’s squad are former Counter-Strike players, giving them the raw skills they need to excel in a competitive shooter game. Many other organizations have signed a professional Valorant squad since.
In fact, it’s safe to say that Team Liquid is fairly late to the party. Among the first teams to join Valorant and tout it as a viable competitive choice were 100 Thieves. Another team to adopt the game early on was Team SoloMid, a community established around another Riot Games’ title, League of Legends, which has transitioned to be one of the best-recognized names in the competitive video gaming world.
Some sports franchises have also expanded their digital footprint by hosting an event for Valorant. Among those are the Pittsburg Knights, the NFL franchise Pittsburgh Steelers’ esports team.
